I am currently an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Metropolitan State College of Denver. My research interests include economic and financial literacy and topics that lie at the intersection of international trade and health economics. I grew up in Bismarck, North Dakota and then studied economics and French at Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota. In 2006, I earned my doctorate in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I spent three years as an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Indiana before the mountains called me back west. I have also consulted for the US Department of Commerce in the Industry Trade Policy division. I often teach K-12 teacher workshops for the Colorado Council for Economic Education. I live with my husband in Boulder, Colorado and enjoy traveling, cooking, and practicing yoga.
